The Fredericksburg Poems

 

Please note - we have changed our deadline to extend into 2011
and we have changed our guidelines to include essays of up to 500 words.
 
For a poetry chapbook to be sold locally,
we are collecting poems about Fredericksburg, Texas:
history, people, landscapes, architecture, wildlife, or events (real or imaginary).
 
Of special interest are old poems about Fredericksburg,
written by those who have passed on - sometimes found in
shoe boxes at the back of the closet, in a forgotten drawer, or
in yellowing diaries, journal, or notebooks. Please share them with us!
 
We are also accepting short essays or stories up to 500 words about Fredericksburg.
 
Submit 1-3 typed poems, any style, any form, by June 15, 2011 (postmark deadline) to:

Poems should be no more than 30 lines, including spaces.
Include name, address, phone number, email and 20 word bio
on each poem, and an SASE for our reply.
 
If your poems have been previously published and you hold the copyright,  
please tell us where and when. We request one-time rights.
 
Payment will be one complimentary copy for accepted poems.
We anticipate publication by October, 1, 2011.
